The road he set to traverse was rugged, but great for the cause of independence, anti-imperialism and socialism replete with victory and brilliant exploits. His struggle involved masses of people up in arms to defend the country and oppose imperialism. His revolutionary cause needed great leadership ability and resolute determination to defeat the Japanese imperialists and international reactionary forces.
He firmly maintained the belief that the popular masses are the trail-blazers of revolution and propeller of the construction of a new society free from exploitation, firm faith in the popular masses, and conviction of the victory in the struggle overcoming all the trials and hardships. The Korean revolution developed through a hard political and class struggle against imperialism, dominationism, flunkeyism, dogmatism and revisionism.
He had to do way with counter-revolutionary elements and turncoats, build revolutionary forces and leadership. He set up glorious and historic Workers' Party of Korea and Government starting from a youth organization to the anti-imperialist front. In building up revolutionary armed forces he started from the guerrilla struggle and built a new type of the people's revolutionary army led by him, an iron-willed commander, to defeat Japanese imperialism and win revolutionary victory of the national liberation followed by the construction of people's democracy and socialism.
During the protracted revolutionary struggle he created the Juche idea and strengthened an ideological struggle. He saw to bring into reality the independence in politics and self-supporting economy, and self-reliance in the national defense in order to defend the country and nation and reunifying the country.
The Juche philosophy expounded the position and role of a man as the master and transformer of the world and nature, which makes it distinguished with a complete humanist and idealistic viewpoint.
Juche philosophy is a man-centred new idea that man is the master of everything and decides everything. A man plays a decisive role in transforming his own destiny and the world.
With the man-centred revolutionary theory and methods Juche idea is a banner of victory in the Juche-oriented socialist construction.
The fundamental principle of the Juche idea means that the masses of people are the master of the world and themselves.
After the World War Two the US imperialists and south Korean traitors, their allies, divided the country into the north and the south and started a fierce war with a great force out of comparison in the balance of power.
However, the imperialist enemies and allies of south Korea were worsted by the Korean People's Army, united people and all the socialist forces led by Comrade Kim Il Sung, President of the DPRK to make a signature on the Armistice Agreement in 1953.
The south Korean regime was backed by the US occupation forces, but in north Korea under the leadership of great leader permanent President Kim Il Sung and the WPK together with the people united firmly behind the leader and the Party carried out rehabilitation, the struggle for defending the gains of independence and revolution and great change in the socialist construction.
Great leader Kim Il Sung, permanent President and sun of the nation, is eternally great leader of the Korean nation and world revolutionaries and one of the greatest and most brilliant statesman of the 20th century. The present era is an era of the revolutionary change and an era of strong anti-imperialist struggle of the people firm and awakened for the liberation and sovereignty.
The imperialism cannot resurrect. Its crisis is aggravating as the days go by, yielding the way to the revolutionary change toward people's democracy and socialism. That is the only way out for the imperialists from the political and economic crisis as great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, permanent President, wisely foresaw.
We have to add luster to, and set great store by, the lifetime and struggle of the great leader, permanent President and pioneer of the internationalist anti-imperialist struggle.
Peoples must learn from his ideological instructions and his exploits made in the steadfast struggle for the new democracy and socialism against reactionaries, traitors to the nation and aggressive imperialist oppressors.
In this seminar on the life and exploits of great Comrade Kim Il Sung we hope that the WPK would be more strengthened and united as instructed by the permanent General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the most faithful and close comrade of the great leader and exerciser of the Songun politics, who developed the invincible socialist thriving nation and attached great importance to the ideological education.
At the same time, we extend our solidarity to the present Juche-type revolutionary leadership headed by Comrade Kim Jong Un.
We also extend our solidarity to the revolutionary People's Army wishing that the DPRK government continue to grow and achieve greater successes in defending the independence and territorial integrity.
We wish Korea progress in carrying out the victorious, people-centred, Juche-oriented socialist cause by building a modern, progressive and advanced state.
Let us unite under the banner of the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea
Reconstruction and reunification was an earnest lifetime desire of Comrade Kim Il Sung since the division of Korea due to the occupation of US troops and south Korean regime's traitorous acts following liberation.
South Korean regime drove Korea to the cruel pre-historical division under the control of the US imperialists and their allies. Comrade Kim Il Sung wisely instructed that all the people regard the independent peaceful reunification of Korea as the most urgent task and highest moral obligation.
This task given by the great leader in his historical and patriotic behests is the most important obligation for the present generation and nation and the posterity to accomplish at any cost.
The great leader devoted all his thoughts, energy and revolutionary efforts to the country and nation to make immortal exploits in accomplishing the cause of reunification. He put forth all possible patriotic proposals for the harmony of the north and the south and made efforts to put an end to the domination and intervention of the US imperialists and great powers with all his wisdom and restore the sovereignty nationwide and reunify the country into one.
The Korean nation had been a single nation sharing the same territory for thousands of years, but today it has been forced to a cruel division by foreign forces and traitors to the nation in south Korea.
The south Korean people want to live in a reunified Korea free from the imperialist subjugation and domination and take back the national sovereignty and develop to prosper with legitimate patriotic honour. All the Korean people cherish the reunification as their supreme desire and hope to hand down a peaceful, independent and reunified Korea to the posterity.
Taking into consideration that the reunification was the aspiration of the nation, the great leader made strenuous efforts to bring the reunification into reality by way of a dialogue and negotiation despite of the manoeuvrings of the imperialists and the obstinate traitors.
He also staged strenuous and profound internationalist activities to win the international support and solidarity to achieve the cause of independent and peaceful reunification of the country without foreign interferences.
The cause of the national reunification gathers the support and solidarity from the genuine democratic political leaders and progressive governments by its justness and powerful Third World policies.
The great leader, permanent President, put forth many fair and square and realizable reunification proposals. One of them is the “Three Principles of National Reunification” which contains three principle of national reunification: independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity. What it suggests is that the national reunification has to be achieved by their strength and in their own legitimate interests.
This principle was confirmed in the July 4 North-South Joint Declaration. The “Ten-point Programme of the Great National Unity for the National Reunification”, a political platform for the national reunification, suggests to found the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo on the premise of tolerating the ideology and social system existing in the north and the south, starting from the Juche idea.
Comrade Kim Jong Il made the Three Charters the banner of the reunification.
Many are the policies and proposals for the reunification put forth by the great leader.
In the “On the Five Policies for the National Reunification” he suggested the measures to prevent the tenacious moves of national division continued by the US imperialists and south Korean authorities in disregard of the North-South Joint Statement.
The five policies for the national reunification involve the suspension of arms build-up and arms race, the withdrawal of the foreign forces, reduction of forces and armaments, halt to the import of weapons from abroad and conclusion of peace accord.
Heedless of the June 4, 2000 Declaration and other joint statements the US imperialists and the south Korean authorities still continue to resort to the acts of impeding the independent and peaceful reunification.
The democratic, progressive leftist anti-imperialist forces of the Peruvian people and the Peruvian Committee for the support of the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea extend a firm solidarity to the aim of the DPRK Government and people and the patriotic efforts of Comrade Kim Jong Un making after the revolutionary example of permanent President Kim Il Sung and respected leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, permanent General Secretary.
We support all the efforts to achieve the reunification of the country, build prosperous and modern Juche-oriented socialism and frustrate militarist provocative acts of the US imperialists and their minions.
