Korea: Ever-Victorious with Independence

I wish to extend warm congratulations to the Workers Party of Korea (WPK), the organizer and guide of all victories of Korean people, for its 75th founding anniversary.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) under the leadership of the WPK is a world recognized as strong independent country which is doing all its state building and development activities in an independent way.

Independence is the aspiration of human kind and the trend of our times.

World progressive people admire and praise the DPRK for its ever brilliant victories gained in its protracted and arduous road of the Korean revolution overcoming all challenges imposed by the hostile forces.

The secret behind the success of the WPK and the DPRK strong independent character recognized by the world today lies in the independent policies that the Great Persons of Mt. Paektu initiated, carried on and applied.

President Kim Il Sung, the father of socialist Korea, embarked on the road of struggle for the country and people and founded the Juche Idea based on the principle of independence that the masters of the Korean revolution are the Korean people themselves.

With this principle of independence, the President achieved Korean national liberation leading the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory and after liberation he built an independent sovereign state by initiating and brilliantly implementing the Juche based line of building the Party, State and Army.

The President put forward and implemented independent lines and policies thoroughly reflecting the aspirations and demands of the Korean people and detailed realities of the country during the whole period of leading the revolution and construction and thus developed and built the DPRK as a powerful socialist country.

 Guided by the Juche idea that man is the master of his own destiny and he also has the strength with which to shape his own destiny, the DPRK under the guidance of the WPK has consistently and firmly adhered to the line of independence in politics, self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in national defence.

The President actively supported world national independence struggle in the colonies and their new nation building and greatly contributed to the cause of global independence until his last days of life.

Chairman Kim Jong Il is a great genius for independence in politics.

He placed Jajusong (independence) as a lifeline and fully applied Juche idea which values it more than anything else in the revolution and construction.

Thanks to his firm line of independence that the DPRK was never waved when world socialist system collapsed at the end of last century.

When power balance changed in the world due to the collapse of socialist system, united imperialist forces rampaged bullying and high-handedness, their sinister offensive in all areas of politics, economy and military focused against the DPRK which is advancing under the banner of socialism.

Responding to this Chairman Kim Jong Il held higher the banner of Army-first policy.Thanks to this policy the military might of the DPRK decisively grew, and the country became a military power which no other aggressive forces can dare to attack.

The DPRK’s supreme leader Kim Jong Un is a leader strong in faith and conviction, and he adheres strictly to the principle of independence. There is unfair international order which  prevails around the world, by which some  countries act in a high-handed manner and big nations seek to dominate small ones.    Kim Jong Un views national sovereignty as the life blood of his country, never tolerating the high-handedness and arbitrariness of big powers. As guardian of justice, he stands up against hostile forces, challenging its unipolarization policy.

Credit should go to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

As is known worldwide, the DPRK is building its economy amid the decades-long pressure and blockade. The DPRK has built up its national strength under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. His appeal to his people to display the spirit of self-development first enjoys unqualified support from them and inspires them to further efforts.

Under his guidance DPRK has a number of model factories and enterprises which have been made Juche-oriented. IT-based and scientific, and advanced management methods and good experience generalized throughout the country. As a result, the country’s heavy industry is rapidly developing with defence industry as its backbone, and its light industry is making an active contribution to improving the people’s standard of living.

As for the military capability, a major criterion for evaluating the national strength of the country, the DPRK has risen to the status of a world-class military power with cutting-edge strategic weapons and H-bombs.

The international community commented that in recent years the DPRK has been transformed beyond recognition under the guidance of Kim Jong Un, emerging as a new power on the world stage.

The independent power under this sagacious leader will surely greet a golden age of prosperity.

The politics of the WPK is the politics of independence.

Jajusong is the lifeline of a country and nation and the symbol of a sovereign and independent state.

All the countries and nations that aspire for independence and justice should oppose and reject and shape their own destiny independently.

Former US president Jimmy Carter, who had visited the country, said:

North Korea (the DPRK) is quite a unique society. It is a society where the people believe in the philosophy of independence as a religion. Imposing pressure and blockade to the DPRK is a very counter-productive method.
