Great Man’s Smile

SMILE is a typical way of expressing happiness and a sign that pleases others. A saying goes that a bright smile mirrors a pure heart. How one smiles at the other indicates one's attitude towards the other, often revealing one's inner thoughts and character. Worldwide, there is a growing number of institutes devoted to the study of smile.
For a statesman, smile and other facial expressions are a barometer of the situation in his country. When the country is in a critical situation, his face glooms over in most cases, or he might smile as a sign of composure and confidence.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is known as a smiling statesman. His smile has some characteristics.
First, he smiles brightly and benignly. The audiences saw him smile happily at the sight of a mountain of fish at a fishery station, a new hostel for the female employees at a textile mill, and the cheerful children at a new baby home and orphanage. Such a sunny smile is an indication of sincerity and modesty. His smiling face mirrors his greatness as a people's leader who is honest and unassuming, and finds the greatest pleasure in their well-being.
Second, his smile denotes his confidence in the country's brilliant future. Recently, the political situation in the Korean peninsula has been very acute. On TV screen, however, he always appeared as broadly smiling as ever. What he said while looking round factories or mingling with people was meaningful yet humorous. Humour is a way of expressing self-assurance. He who laughs last laughs longest-this seems to be the Korean leader's axiom. When a hair-trigger situation prevailed in the country owing to the military actions by hostile forces, he did not inspect a front-line army unit or a strategic missile base but visited the Ryuwon Footwear Factory and Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory, with a view to improving the people's living standards. Seeing their leader beaming in such a critical situation, the Korean people grew confident of the country's rosy future and the world came to know what a courageous leader he is.
Fully convinced of the validity of the socialist cause and his people's strength, he is always optimistic and never flinches in the face of manifold difficulties.
His attractive smile is, in effect, a source of the Korean people's mental strength.
